Anna Silk was born in Fredericton as the child of Peter Silk, an academic and Ilkay Silk, a multi-talented actress as well as a producer, director and educator, playwright and Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Anna was born in Fredericton, the child of Ilkay Silk and Peter Silk. Her mother is a "English-Turkish Cypriot ex-pat" born in Britain. Anna remembers attending performances for her plays as a child and watching her mom at work. In her early years Anna was a part of a variety of television commercials. In November 1999, Anna moved to Toronto in order to further develop her acting career. She ended up moving to Los Angeles, California, within the next decade. Seth Cooperman and Anna met in Los Angeles in 2007, in an acting workshop. They were engaged by 2009 when they were married. Anna changed her religion to Judaism in the month of January, 2011, and the couple renewed their vows at a Jewish wedding in Fredericton. Bo's same-sex romance with Lauren was highlighted by the top television Couples ever and named Top Television Couple in 2013 by E! Entertainment Television. Anna's internet popularity increased due to the popularity of the series.
